Treasurer to keep redeemed bond register.

33.540. All bonds purchased or paid under the laws of thisstate shall be deposited with the state treasurer, who shallimmediately proceed, in the presence of the fund commissioners,to cancel the bonds and all attached coupons by punching in amanner to preclude the possibility of negotiation, use or sale.He shall register the canceled bonds in a well-bound book keptfor that purpose, designated "the redeemed bond register". Thebonds shall be registered by their numbers, dates, series andamounts, the date of their payment or purchase, to whom paid orfrom whom purchased, and under what law it was done.
