Sentence, convening authority may approve, suspend or commute.

40.185. Except as provided in section 40.183, a court-martial sentence,unless suspended, may be ordered executed by the convening authority whenapproved by that authority. The convening authority shall approve thesentence or such part, amount, or commuted form of the sentence as he seesfit, and may suspend the execution of the sentence as approved by him.
