80.170. In addition to the power already possessed by townsand villages under section 80.090 to restrain domestic animalsfrom running at large within their corporate limits, such townsand villages may, through their board of trustees, regulate orprohibit the running at large of cattle, hogs, horses, sheep,goats, mules, asses and other domestic animals, and cause such asmay be running at large to be impounded and sold in such mannerand time as may be provided by ordinance; such trustees mayprovide fees for restraining and impounding such animals to bepaid by the owners and may also provide penalties for the ownerswho allow or permit such animals to run at large. The saidtrustees may also provide for the erection of all needful pens,pounds and buildings for the use of such town or village, withinor without the limits thereof, and appoint and compensate keepersthereof and establish and enforce rules governing the same.
