84.050. One of their number shall, from time to time, beappointed by the said commissioners treasurer of said board ofpolice; and his appointment, when made, shall be certified to bythe clerk of the circuit court of the judicial circuit in whichsaid cities shall be located, under the seal of said court. Saidtreasurer shall hold his office for such time as may bedesignated by the commissioners, who may remove him at pleasure.Before he enters upon the duties of his office as treasurer, heshall give bond to the state of Missouri, with one or moresureties, in the penalty of ten thousand dollars, conditioned forthe faithful discharge of his duties as treasurer of the board ofpolice, and for the faithful application and payment over,pursuant to the order and direction of said board, of all moneyswhich may come to his hands as such treasurer. The bond of thetreasurer shall be approved by a circuit judge of the judicialcircuit in which said cities shall be located and shall bedelivered to and safely kept by the treasurer of said cities.
