Criminal liability not limited by statutory provisions--correctionof benefit errors by the board.

86.1440. Nothing contained in sections 86.1310 to 86.1640 shall inany way limit the criminal liability of any person subject to prosecutionunder any law which is now or may hereafter be in force. Should any changeor error in records result in any member or beneficiary receiving from thepension system more or less than such person would have been entitled toreceive had the records been correct, the retirement board shall correctsuch error and, as far as practicable, shall adjust the payments in such amanner that the benefit to which said member or beneficiary was correctlyentitled shall be paid.
