Board members in active police service, leave to attendeducational seminars.

86.980. Each member of the retirement board who is in active servicewith the police department of a city as either a police officer, as definedin section 86.900, or as an employee, as defined in section 86.1310, shallbe granted authorized leave with pay by such police department to attendany and all educational seminars and like functions that have beenauthorized by the retirement board, including travel time to and from suchfunctions, not to exceed ten days in any calendar year. Leave grantedunder this section shall not reduce vacation or other authorized leave timeto which such member may be entitled without reference to this section.
