Amounts payable by city under chapter 287 to be set off.

87.255. Any amounts which may be paid or payable by the cityunder the provisions of chapter 287, RSMo, to a member or to thedependents of a member on account of any disability or deathshall be offset against and payable in lieu of any benefitspayable out of funds provided by the city under the provisions ofsections 87.120 to 87.370 on account of the same disability ordeath. In case the present value of the total commuted benefitsunder chapter 287, RSMo, is less than the reserve on the benefitsotherwise payable from funds provided by the city under sections87.120 to 87.370, then the present value of the commuted paymentsshall be deducted from the reserve and such benefits as may beprovided by the reserve so reduced shall be payable under theprovisions of sections 87.120 to 87.370.
