False statement, a misdemeanor--adjustment of benefits resultingfrom false statement.

87.370. Any person who shall knowingly make any falsestatement, or shall falsify or permit to be falsified any recordor records of this retirement system in any attempt to defraudsuch system as a result of such act, is guilty of a misdemeanor.Should any change or error in records result in any member orbeneficiary receiving from the retirement system more or lessthan he would have been entitled to receive had the records beencorrect, the board of trustees shall correct the error and, asfar as practicable, shall adjust the payments in such a mannerthat the actuarial equivalent of the benefit to which such memberor beneficiary was correctly entitled shall be paid.
