87.485. Funds exempt from garnishment or other legal process.
87.485. No portion of said pension fund shall, before orafter its order of distribution by the board of trustees to thepersons entitled thereto, and before the actual payment thereofto such persons, be held, seized, taken, subjected to, ordetained or levied on by virtue of any attachment, execution,injunction, writ, interlocutory or other order or decree, or anyprocess or proceeding whatever issued out of or by any court ofthis state for the payment or satisfaction, in whole or in part,of any debt, damages, claim, demand or judgment against thebeneficiary of said funds; but the said funds shall be held anddistributed for the purposes of sections 87.380 to 87.490, andfor no other purpose whatever.
