Condemnation of property--right to take possession after payment ofdamages.

88.063. Any city shall have the right to advance the amountof damages awarded on the filing of the report of thecommissioners assessing the damages and thereupon enter upon andtake possession of such property and proceed with the publicimprovements for which such property is sought to be taken ordamaged, and to be reimbursed from the benefits assessed when thesame are collected. Any subsequent proceedings shall affect onlythe amount of compensation to be allowed for the property takenor damaged and shall not in any way interfere with the right ofsuch city to the property sought to be acquired or damaged forpublic purposes.
