May assess benefits and damages, and collect and pay therefor.

91.800. All such cities are hereby authorized and empoweredto acquire such rapid transit improvement, in whole or in part,by condemnation, and shall have the power to assess benefits anddamages, and collect and pay therefor, in the manner that suchcities may now or hereafter be authorized to acquire real estateor other property, or rights of interest therein, for publicpurposes.
