Discrimination in hiring based on educational programs prohibited,when.

105.255. 1. No municipal fire department, municipal policedepartment, state agency, state department, or political subdivision of thestate shall discriminate in hiring, placement, treatment, or prerequisiterequirements for any employment or services of an individual based on theelementary or secondary education program that the individual is completingor has completed, provided that such elementary or secondary educationprogram is permitted under Missouri law.

2. Nothing in this section shall prohibit an employer from requiringan individual to have other abilities or skills applicable to the duties ofa position.

3. This section shall not apply to any private employer.
