Option, who shall exercise.

105.820. The head of each executive department andconstitutional agency and in the case of the judicial branch ofthe government the chief justice of the supreme court, and in thecase of the legislative branch of the government the presidentpro tem of the senate and the speaker of the house ofrepresentatives acting together, shall exercise the option toinsure or self-insure in the best interest of the state and shallperform such duties as may be necessary or incidental to carryout effectively the purposes of sections 105.800 to 105.850.
