Ballot box, procedure for handling.

115.423. After the time fixed by law for the opening of thepolls but before the voting begins, the election judges shallopen the ballot box and show to all present that it is empty.The ballot box shall then be locked and the key kept by one ofthe election judges. The ballot box shall not be opened orremoved from public view from the time it is shown to be emptyuntil the polls close or until the ballot box is delivered forcounting pursuant to section 115.451. If voting machines areused, the election judges shall call attention to the counter onthe face of each voting machine and show to all present that itis set at zero.
