Commission cannot fix rate of levy.

138.340. 1. The commission shall have no power to fix therate of levy for the state or any political or municipalsubdivision thereof, nor shall the commission have any power orauthority to supervise the fixing of any tax levied or to belevied.

2. County commissions, city councils, school boards, and allother bodies legally authorized to make levies, shall be andremain free to make the rate of levy for their respective localpolitical subdivisions or municipalities at any figure notprohibited by the constitution or laws of the state.
