Executive director--qualifications--compensation, office space, staff,to be provided by department.

161.403. 1. The commission shall appoint an executive director, whoshall serve as an executive officer of the commission. As a priority, thedirector shall be a deaf or hard of hearing person or shall have abackground and knowledge of deafness and shall be fluent in using andreading American sign language or signed English as a means ofcommunication.

2. Salary, office space and staff for the executive director shall beprovided by the department of elementary and secondary education.
