Section of district reorganization created--duties.

162.152. The state board of education shall establish withinthe department of elementary and secondary education a section ofdistrict reorganization. The state board, through the section ofdistrict reorganization, shall advise and, upon request by anycounty commission, cooperate with the various county commissionsin making plans for the enlargement and reorganization of schooldistricts throughout the state and shall provide the technicaland advisory assistance in connection therewith that, in thediscretion of the board, will promote efficiency in schooladministration and the improvement of educational opportunitiesfor the school children of the state.
