Permanent records, digital or electronic format permitted.

162.204. Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, aschool district may fulfill its statutory responsibility to maintainpermanent records by maintaining or storing such records in a digital orelectronic format. A school district that maintains or stores records in adigital or electronic format shall follow all guidelines, suggestions, orrecommendations set forth by the manufacturer of the digital or electronicstorage media. A school district shall not use or maintain digital orelectronic storage media beyond the manufacturer-suggested or recommendedperiod of time.
