Duties, restrictions and liabilities of the board--quorum--seal.

162.511. Except as provided in laws specifically applicableto urban districts the board in any urban district shall performthe same duties and be subject to the same restrictions andliabilities as the school boards of other school districts actingunder the general school laws of the state. A majority of theboard constitutes a quorum for the transaction of business. Nocontract shall be let, teacher employed, bill approved or warrantordered unless a majority of the board shall vote therefor, butthis provision does not apply to the reemployment of any teacher.It shall provide and keep a corporate seal.
