Failure to attend board meetings, effect--vacancies, how filled.

162.611. Any member failing to attend the meetings of the board forthree consecutive regular meetings, unless excused by the board for reasonssatisfactory to the board, shall be deemed to have vacated his seat; andthe secretary of the board shall certify that fact to the mayor. Thesecretary shall likewise certify to the mayor any other vacancy occurringin the board. Any vacancy shall be filled by the mayor by appointment forthe remainder of the term.
