Extended day child care fund established--administration--use offunds--expenses.

167.296. 1. The "Extended Day Child Care Fund" isestablished in the state treasury and shall be administered bythe department of elementary and secondary education at thedirection of the state board of education. The fund shallconsist of moneys appropriated annually by the general assemblyfrom general revenue to the fund and any moneys paid into thestate treasury and required by law to be credited to the fund.

2. Moneys in the fund shall be used for grants to districtsto provide extended day child care programs according to theprovisions of sections 167.290 to 167.310.

3. Expenses of the department of elementary and secondaryeducation in administering the program shall be paid from thefund.

4. Any unexpended balance in the fund at the end of eachfiscal year shall be exempt from the provisions of section33.080, RSMo, relating to the transfer of unexpended balances tothe general revenue fund.
