167.304. 1. The board may approve a grant from the fund to a districtif the district demonstrates to the board that it can:
(1) Provide a physical environment that is safe and appropriate to thevarious age levels of the children to be served;
(2) If necessary, provide transportation to and from a school or schoolsto the facility operated by the applicant;
(3) Provide program activities that are appropriate to the various agelevels of the children to be served and that meet the developmental needs ofeach child;
(4) Provide efficient and effective program administration;
(5) Provide staff that meets the standards set by the board;
(6) Provide for nutritional needs of children enrolled in the program;
(7) Provide emergency health care services to children served by theprogram; and
(8) Operate an extended day child care program in accordance with thecost and expense standards set by the board.
2. No district operating an extended day child care program directly orthrough contract with a not-for-profit corporation shall be required to meetany standards except those of the state board of education promulgatedaccording to sections 167.290 to 167.310. A district may voluntarily meetstate day care provider licensing requirements promulgated under chapter 210,RSMo.
