False statement, misdemeanor--correction of records--adjustment.

169.530. Any person who shall knowingly make any falsestatement, or shall falsify or permit to be falsified any recordor records of this retirement system in any attempt to defraudsuch system, as a result of such act, shall be guilty of amisdemeanor and shall be punishable therefor under the laws ofthis state. Should any change or error in records result in anymember or beneficiary receiving from the retirement system moreor less than he would have been entitled to receive had therecords been correct, the board of trustees shall have the powerto correct such error and, as far as practicable, may adjust thepayments in such a manner that the actuarial equivalent of thebenefit to which such member or beneficiary was correctlyentitled shall be paid.
