170.061. Before the publisher of any school textbook offersthe same for sale to any school board in the state of Missouri,he shall file a copy of the textbook in the office of the stateboard of education with a sworn statement of the list price andthe lowest net price at which the book is sold anywhere in theUnited States under like conditions of distribution. Thepublisher shall file with the state board of education a writtenagreement to furnish the book or books to any school board inMissouri at the price so filed. The publisher must further agreeto reduce the prices in Missouri if reductions are made elsewherein the country, so that at no time may any book be sold inMissouri at a higher price than is received for the same bookelsewhere in the country where like methods of distributionprevail. The publisher shall further agree that all booksoffered for sale in Missouri shall be equal in quality to thosedeposited in the office of the state board of education as topaper, binding, print, illustration and all points that mayaffect the value of the books.
