Appropriations by general assembly, purpose.

172.820. The general assembly shall appropriate, as aseparate line item appropriation, to the curators of theUniversity of Missouri for the state cancer center, out of thestate treasury from general revenue such sums of money as aredeemed necessary to maintain, operate, repair and improve theMissouri state cancer center. State funds shall be appropriatedto the center from general revenue for the payment of treatmentand care of those persons who cannot pay for such services, andfor capital improvements for cancer center property includingrepairs, maintenance, preventive maintenance and renovation, forthe design and planning of maintenance, preventive maintenanceand renovation projects and for such other purposes as thegeneral assembly may deem appropriate.
