Selection of research projects, procedure.

173.520. The board of curators shall solicit and selectproposals for research projects from persons associated with auniversity to be funded pursuant to sections 173.500 to 173.565,according to procedures approved by the coordinating board. Theselection procedures shall provide for external peer review,assessment of the capacity of each research project to enhanceemployment opportunity within this state, and as evaluation ofthe potential of each research project to encourage privateinvestment for a research project that would affect the Missourieconomy. The selection procedures shall give consideration tothe recommendations of a steering committee established by theboard of curators and to include at least one representative eachof all eligible institutions.
