Definitions.

191.1050. As used in sections 191.1050 to 191.1056, the followingterms shall mean:

(1) "Area of defined need", a rural area or section of an urban areaof this state which is located in a federally designated healthprofessional shortage area and which is designated by the department asbeing in need of the services of health care professionals;

(2) "Department", the department of health and senior services;

(3) "Director", the director of the department of health and seniorservices;

(4) "Eligible facility", a public or nonprofit private medicalfacility or other health care facility licensed under chapter 197, RSMo,any mental health facility defined in section 632.005, RSMo, rural healthclinic, or any group of licensed health care professionals in an area ofdefined need that is designated by the department as eligible to receivedisbursements from the Missouri health care access fund under section191.1056.
