193.065. The state registrar may appoint local registrars, each ofwhom shall be a person employed by an official county or city health agencyexcept as otherwise herein provided. Each local registrar shall beauthorized under the provisions of section 193.255 and subsection 2 ofsection 193.265 to issue certifications of death records. A localregistrar, with the approval of the state registrar, may appoint deputiesto carry out some or all of the responsibilities of the local registrar asprovided in sections 193.005 to 193.325 or the regulations promulgatedpursuant thereto. The local registrars shall immediately report to thestate registrar violations of sections 193.005 to 193.325 or theregulations promulgated pursuant thereto. In any city not within a county,the state registrar shall appoint the recorder of deeds for such city asthe local registrar.
