196.943. Within thirty days after August 13, 1972, thegovernor shall appoint ten persons as members of the state milkboard as set forth in section 196.941 and their authority to actshall commence upon receiving the advice and consent of thesenate, if the senate shall be in session, but if the senate notbe in session, the authority to act as an acting board membershall commence immediately upon appointment by the governor, butshall terminate if advice and consent is not received withinthirty days after the senate convenes. If advice and consent isnot given, such person shall not be reappointed by the governorto the board. To be eligible for appointment by the governor,the board member must be a citizen of the United States and aresident of the state. Advice and consent may be withdrawn withregard to the appointment of a member of the state milk board bya majority vote of the elected members of the senate.
