Training programs related to quality of patient care and safetyrequired--standards developed by department of health and seniorservices.

197.287. By July 1, 2001, all hospitals and ambulatory surgical centersshall provide training programs, with measurable minimal training outcomesrelating to quality of patient care and patient safety, to all unlicensedstaff providing patient care in their facility within ninety days of thebeginning date of employment. Standards for such training shall beestablished by the department of health and senior services by rule. It shallbe a requirement of hospital and ambulatory surgical center licensure pursuantto this chapter that all hospitals and ambulatory surgical centers submitdocumentation to the department of health and senior services on the trainingprogram used.
