205.980. 1. The governing body of the county shall, uponapproval of a majority of the qualified voters of such countyvoting thereon, levy and collect a tax as specified on theballot, not to exceed forty cents per one hundred dollars ofassessed valuation upon all taxable property within the county,to accomplish the purposes as set out in section 205.977.
2. The tax so levied shall be collected along with othercounty taxes in the manner provided by law. All funds collectedfor this purpose shall be deposited in a special fund to bedesignated "Community Mental Health Fund" to accomplish thepurposes as set out in section 205.977 and shall be used for noother purpose. Deposits in the fund shall be expended only uponapproval of the board of trustees.
3. Tax levies once approved by a majority of the votersshall continue in effect if the question is resubmitted eitherto raise or lower the levy and not approved by a majority ofvotes cast on the question.
