Department to sue in name of director--interest authorized.

217.050. For all debts and demands whatsoever due any of thecorrectional centers subject to the control of the department and alldamages for failure of contract, and for trespass and other wrongs to thecorrectional center or any property thereof, real or personal, actions inany court of competent jurisdiction may be maintained in the name of thedirector. Interest shall be charged and every effort made to recover onany and all sums due the correctional center on account of any inmatethereof; the account therefor, certified by the head of the correctionalcenter, with the seal of the department attached, shall be prima facieevidence of the amount due.
