217.120. 1. Any employee of the department who receives,under any pretense, from any offender or offender's family, anyservices, legal tender or article of value not authorized by thedepartment shall be guilty of a class A misdemeanor.
2. Any employee of the department who, directly orindirectly, receives anything of value for procuring, orattempting or assisting to procure, the pardon or parole of anyoffender shall be guilty of a class B felony.
3. Any employee of the department who becomes aware of aviolation of this section shall report such knowledge to thedirector. Failure to do so shall be grounds for dismissal, orother appropriate disciplinary action.
4. If the director has cause to believe that any violationof this section has occurred, he shall investigate the matter andreport the facts, together with the names of the witnesses, tothe prosecuting attorney of the county in which the offenseoccurred or to the circuit attorney of any city not within acounty.
