221.044. No person under the age of seventeen years, exceptthose transferred to the court of general jurisdiction under theprovisions of section 211.071, RSMo, shall be detained in a jailor other adult detention facility as that term is defined insection 211.151, RSMo. A traffic court judge may request thejuvenile court to order the commitment of a person under the ageof seventeen to a juvenile detention facility.
