Sheriff to take prisoners before circuit court.

221.240. When any person shall be committed to jail, inconformity to section 221.230, it shall be the duty of thesheriff of the county in which said jail is situated to take, orcause to be taken, the person thus committed, together with theday and cause of his capture and detention, before the circuitcourt of the county appointed for the trial of such prisoner, atsuch time as the cause is set for trial and at such other timesas the court shall direct.
