Highways and transportation commission may contribute to cost--amount.

234.230. The state highways and transportation commissionmay, when in its opinion the best interests of the state require,contribute not to exceed thirty percent of the cost ofconstruction of such bridge or bridges when constructed under theprovisions of sections 234.210 and 234.220 and when such bridgesform a part of or a continuation of the state highway system, andmay incorporate any such toll bridge into the state highwaysystem and maintain such bridge as a part of the state highwaysystem; provided, however, that such law shall create noobligation or responsibility on the part of the state highwaysand transportation commission to make any refund for any moneysexpended in the acquisition, construction, maintenance oroperation of such bridge.
