Taxes to be levied and collected as other taxes.

235.190. It shall be the duty of the body having authorityto levy taxes within the county to levy the taxes provided inthis law, and it shall be the duty of all officials charged withthe duty of collecting taxes to collect such taxes at the timeand in the form and manner and with like interest and penaltiesas other taxes are collected; and when collected, to pay the sameto the district ordering its levy and collection or entitled tothe same, and the payment of such collections shall be mademonthly to the treasurer of the district and paid into thedepositary thereof to the credit of the district. All taxeslevied under this law, together with interest thereon andpenalties for default in payment thereof, and all costs ofcollecting the same, shall, until paid, constitute a perpetuallien on and against the property taxed, and such lien shall be ona parity with the tax lien of general taxes, and no sale of suchproperty to enforce any general tax or other lien shallextinguish the perpetual lien of district taxes.
