242.470. 1. Where the works set out in the plan forreclamation of any drainage district is found insufficient toreclaim in whole or in part any or all of the land and otherproperty of the district the board of supervisors shall have theright to formulate new or amended plans containing new ditches,levees or other works, or providing for the enlargement ofexisting ditches, levees or other works, and additionalassessments may be made in conformity with the provisions ofsection 242.260, the same to be made in proportion to theincreased benefits accruing to the lands and other propertybecause of the additional works.
2. If it should be found at any time that the amount oftotal tax levied under the provisions of section 242.450 isinsufficient to pay cost of works set out in the plan forreclamation or additional work done under the provisions of thissection the board of supervisors may make an additional levy toprovide funds to complete the work; provided, the total of alllevies of such tax does not exceed the total amount of benefitsassessed.
