Elections in district, when, procedure--not required, when--vacantpost, how filled.

247.180. 1. Regular elections and elections held for the purposes ofsection 247.130 shall be called annually by the board of directors on thefirst Tuesday after the first Monday in April. Such elections shall beconducted by the appropriate election authority pursuant to chapter 115,RSMo.

2. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, if there is only onecandidate for the post of director of any given subdistrict, then noelection shall be held, and the candidate or candidates shall assume theresponsibilities of their offices at the same time and in the same manneras if elected. If there is no candidate for the post of any givensubdistrict, then no election shall be held for that post and it shall beconsidered vacant, to be filled pursuant to the provisions of section247.060.
