Declaration of district organization.

247.340. Upon the said hearing if it shall appear that apetition for the organization of a district has been signed andpresented, as herein provided, in conformity with sections247.230 to 247.670, and that the allegations of the petition aretrue, and that no protesting petition has been filed, or if onehas been filed, that the facts adduced in behalf thereof at thehearing are insufficient to sustain such protesting petition, thecourt shall, by order duly entered of record, adjudicate allquestions of jurisdiction, determine the original maximum rate oflevy for general operating purposes to be voted only if said levyshall exceed fifteen cents on the one hundred dollar valuation,or as herein provided, declare the district organized, define theboundaries thereof, and give it a corporate name by which in allproceedings it shall thereafter be known, and thereupon thedistrict, subject to the election provided in section 247.350,shall be a political subdivision of the state of Missouri and abody corporate with all the powers of like or similarcorporations.
