Selection of sites for facilities included in regional plan.

251.360. 1. The officer or public body of a localgovernmental unit within the region having final authoritythereon shall refer to the regional planning commission, for itsconsideration and report, the following matters: The location ofor acquisition of land for any of the items or facilities whichare included in the adopted regional comprehensive plan.

2. Within twenty days after the matter is referred to theregional planning commission or such longer period as may bestipulated by the referring officer or public body, thecommission shall report its recommendations to the referringofficer or public body. The report and recommendations of thecommission shall be advisory only.

3. Local units and state agencies may authorize the regionalplanning commission with the consent of the commission to act forsuch unit or agency in approving, examining or reviewing plats,pursuant to sections 64.070, 64.245, 64.590, 64.820, 64.830 and88.163, RSMo, as the case may be.
