Cities and counties to be furnished geologic hazard assessmentprepared by division of geology and land survey.

256.173. 1. The department shall provide each county inthe state and a city not within a county, as the informationbecomes available, a geologic hazard assessment, such assessmentto be prepared by the division of geology and land survey. Thedepartment shall provide to each county assistance in the useand application of the geologic hazard assessments in the countyto which the assessment pertains. The geologic hazardassessment shall be made available to the general public.

2. The department shall provide each recorder of deeds ofeach county in the state a map showing the downstream area thatwould be affected in the event of a dam failure.
