256.456. 1. Except as provided in section 256.471, noperson, firm, or corporation shall engage in the practice ofgeology affecting public health, safety and welfare unless thework is performed by or under the supervision of a registeredgeologist. All work so performed shall be signed and sealed bythe registered geologist in responsible charge.

2. No person shall prepare any geologic report or geologicportion of a report required by or supporting compliance withmunicipal, county, state, or federal laws, orders, ordinances orregulations which incorporates or is based on a geologic study oron geologic data unless the geologic report or geologic portionof the report is prepared by or under the supervision of aregistered geologist as evidenced by the registered geologist'ssignature and seal.

3. No person who is not registered by the board to performgeologic work in Missouri may use the designation of "registeredgeologist".

4. No person who is not recognized by the board asgeologist-registrant in-training may use the designation of"geologist-registrant in-training".

5. Any person who violates any provision of this sectionshall be guilty of a class B misdemeanor.
