Prohibited acts--knowledge--certificate of clearance.

259.180. The sale, purchase, acquisition, transportation,refining, processing, or handling of illegal oil, illegal gas, orillegal product is hereby prohibited. However, no penalty by wayof fine shall be imposed upon a person who sells, purchases,acquires, transports, refines, processes, or handles illegal oil,illegal gas, or illegal product unless:

(1) Such person knows, or is put on notice, of factsindicating that illegal oil, illegal gas, or illegal product isinvolved; or

(2) Such person fails to obtain a certificate of clearancewith respect to such oil, gas, or product where prescribed byorder of the council, or fails to follow any other methodprescribed by an order of the council for the identification ofsuch oil, gas or product.
