Director to be appointed by commission, salary--staff may be employed,limits.

262.219. 1. After January 1, 1996, the commission shallappoint a director of the Missouri state fair who shall, at thattime, assume from the director of the department of agriculturethe responsibility for administration of the state fair. Thedirector shall receive an annual salary as established by thecommission, subject to appropriations, to be paid in the samemanner as other state employees. The director shall serve at thepleasure of the commission. The director may reside on thegrounds of the Missouri state fair, and housing and utilities maybe provided by the commission out of funds appropriated for thatpurpose.

2. Within the limits of appropriations made for thatpurpose, necessary administrative and maintenance staff may beemployed by the director for the care and maintenance of thestate fair grounds.
