Large scale animal death, state veterinarian, powers, duties.

269.021. In the event of large scale animal death loss dueto disaster, a disease outbreak, or a disease eradication andcontrol program that will require disposal in excess of therestrictions of section 269.020, the state veterinarian shalldevelop an emergency plan of disposal for the carcasses. Uponrequest of the state veterinarian, the state department ofnatural resources shall assist in the development of theemergency plan and the implementation of such plan. For purposesof this section, the term "animal" shall include cattle, swine,turkeys, chickens, sheep, horses, other domestic and exoticanimals including birds, fish, and reptiles, and all otheranimals raised or produced for commercial purposes.
