Authority to restrict direction of movement on streets during certainperiods.

300.250. 1. The city traffic engineer is hereby authorizedto determine and designate streets, parts of streets or specificlanes thereon upon which vehicular traffic shall proceed in onedirection during one period and the opposite direction duringanother period of the day and shall place and maintainappropriate markings, signs, barriers or other devices to givenotice thereof. The city traffic engineer may erect signstemporarily designating lanes to be used by traffic moving in aparticular direction, regardless of the center line of theroadway.

2. It shall be unlawful for any person to operate anyvehicle in violation of such markings, signs, barriers or otherdevices so placed in accordance with this section.
