301.3115. 1. Any person who has been awarded the military serviceaward known as the "Air Medal" may apply for Air Medal motor vehiclelicense plates for any motor vehicle such person owns, either solely orjointly, other than an apportioned motor vehicle or a commercial motorvehicle licensed in excess of eighteen thousand pounds gross weight.
2. Any such person shall make application for the Air Medal licenseplates on a form provided by the director of revenue and furnish such proofas a recipient of the Air Medal as the director may require. The directorshall then issue license plates bearing letters or numbers or a combinationthereof as determined by the director with the words "AIR MEDAL" in placeof the words "SHOW-ME STATE". Such license plates shall be made with fullyreflective material with a common color scheme and design, shall be clearlyvisible at night, and shall be aesthetically attractive, as prescribed bysection 301.130. Such plates shall also bear an image of the Air Medal.
3. There shall be a fifteen-dollar fee in addition to the regularregistration fees charged for each set of Air Medal license plates issuedpursuant to this section. A fee for the issuance of personalized licenseplates pursuant to section 301.144 shall not be required for plates issuedpursuant to this section. There shall be no limit on the number of licenseplates any person qualified pursuant to this section may obtain so long aseach set of license plates issued pursuant to this section is issued forvehicles owned solely or jointly by such person. License plates issuedpursuant to the provisions of this section shall not be transferable to anyother person except that any registered co-owner of the motor vehicle shallbe entitled to operate the motor vehicle with such plates for the durationof the year licensed in the event of the death of the qualified person.
