Applications--false statements prohibited.

301.420. No person shall willfully or knowingly make a falsestatement in any application for the registration of a motor vehicle ortrailer, or as a dealer, or in an application for or assignment of acertificate of ownership. All blanks or forms issued by the director ofrevenue for the purpose of making application for registration ofcertificate of ownership shall conspicuously bear on the face thereof thefollowing words: "Any false statement in this application is a violationof the law and may be punished by fine or imprisonment or both". Violationof this section shall be a class C misdemeanor.
