Outboard motor registration not required for manufacturers, visitorsin state, and motors used solely for racing.

306.560. The provisions of sections 306.530 to 306.575requiring registration of outboard motors in the office of thedirector of revenue of this state shall not apply tomanufacturers or dealers in new unregistered outboard motors; norshall it apply to nonresident persons who may be visiting orvacationing in this state for not more than sixty consecutivedays at one time, or to outboard motors used on motorboatsdesigned and intended solely for racing while competing in anyrace previously approved by the Missouri state water patrol inaccordance with section 306.130, including operation within atwenty-four-hour period prior to such approved race in order totest or tune up the outboard motor.
